Now that we’ve been back home for a few days, we’ve taken the time to gather our thoughts and reflect on our time at the 6th Annual National CPR & AED Awareness Rally in Washington, D.C. We are carrying home far more than memories—we are carrying a renewed sense of purpose. Standing on the National Mall alongside survivors, families, and heart advocates from across the country reinforced a vital truth: our movement is powered by community.
To wrap up our rally coverage, we want to highlight the voices that made this event so profound. We put together a short video capturing raw, inspiring perspectives on why being a heart advocate matters and why universal access to CPR education and AEDs is so urgently needed.

National Collaboration & Legislation: Advocates emphasized the need to collaborate across state lines to advocate for nationwide bystander CPR training and federal legislation.

Community Education Where It Matters Most: With nearly 80% of cardiac arrests occurring outside a hospital setting, widespread training in Hands-Only CPR and AED use ensures everyday citizens are ready to save a life.

Support Through Shared Experience: Beyond training, advocates highlighted programs like the Cardiac Arrest Survivor Alliance that walk alongside individuals and families impacted by cardiac events.
Taking the Shared Mission Forward
The energy on Capitol Hill was undeniable, but the real work continues in our hometowns, schools, offices, and community spaces. Every AED placed, every bystander trained, and every conversation started brings us closer to a safer, more resilient world.
